Products I Use to Keep My Hair Healthy

Although my hair isn’t the healthiest hair ever, today I wanted to share an updated version of how I keep my hair healthy and how I try to get it as soft and silky as possible. SO here are a few of my favorites (for a while) that I wanted to share with y’all!

Okay hold up real quick and lets talk about how cute that little flower wall that I curated is 😍

Okay but anywho.. I love using, and trying new for my hair. My hair and my skin are the two main things I will for sure splurge on. But to be honest, a lot of what I’m listing below are drugstore!! And that’s my fav gig. Finding good products that don’t break the bank!

So let’s jump into it.

For a conditioner and shampoo I like to use  Pantene Pro-V Daily Moisture Renewal Shampoo + Pantene Pro-V Repair & Protect Conditioner. It’s something for dry, brittle hair that will leave your hair smooth, silky and soft. (I love that alliteration lol) I 100% love the condoner, maybe more than the shampoo. I just don’t see a point in buying an expensive shampoo when a cheap one does what I love.

I really only use expensive brands when they send them to me and I find out MYSELF that I like it.

dsvIf you’ve ever looked into leave-in conditioner, you’ve definitely ran into Redken Extreme Anti-Snap this is a very common, but so worth the hype. I’ve used this for a long time and it never fails. I use this when I take a shower just because I can always tell a difference in my hair. I also use this whenever I go swimming, it definitely helps your hair from all those chemicals in the pool.

Heat protectant isn’t something too many people use because they don’t think it’s important and because most products leave you with greasy, heavy hair. Buuut, I was in the look out for a one that was affordable and that wasn’t going to make my hair greasy and nasty every time I wanted to use heat on my hair. Because as gross as it sounds, I like to not wash my hair for as long as possible.. I find that if I wash it everyday it seems to break off and split more.

Which is when I saw this beauty, Biolage Advanced Repair Inside Control Cream. I now use it religiously whenever I take a shower and my hair is damp, or spritz my hair with water, (it’s used like leave-in conditioner) run it through my scalp to the ends and that’s it! You have protected hair for when you use heat!

Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray This one is a little pricey, I will admit. But my hair stylist used this one time on my hair after I got it done and it was SOO good I had to buy my own and I’ve been using it ever since. It doubles as a dry shampoo + a texturing Spray that makes your hair so full and gives it so much volume.

I actually just found this dry shampoo about last month, Herbal Essences Bio:Renew Cucumber & Green Tea Dry Shampoo, but it was seriously one of the best ones I’ve used that’s drugstore. It doesn’t leave a super white residue on your hair, it doesn’t make your hair ugly and feel weird and look weird, it GENUINELY makes your hair look CLEAN and fresh! One of the best drugstore finds, IMO.

I haven’t really ventured out when it comes to mousse because I don’t use it very often. Which is why I won’t really spend a lot of money on it. I have used this for like, 3 years, it did the job and that’s why I stuck with it. When I was in high school I used it whenever my hair was pretty oily and took a shower in the morning to save time and I will say, it’s way better than what I used to use.

Suave Firm Control Boosting isn’t something to complain about because it literally does it’s job and unlike the kind I used in high school, doesn’t make my hair super stiff and crunchy. I use it when my hair is damp and it gives my hair a really curly vibe that I don’t get from my curling iron. And it’s cheap… SoOoO..

This hairspray is amazing hold. The fragrance is a bonus and it doesn’t make your hair feel stiff. This is much like the texturing spray that I shared above. It gives your hair amazing volume and it holds curls sooo well.

I usually buy the travel size and it lasts me a long while because I use this to add volume with this hairspray on top. About 3/4 OUAI Texturizing Spray + and 1/4 Big Sexy Hair Hair Spray and you’re good to go!
