Bible Verse Week: 7

Hi Folks!

(Lol. I don’t know how I like the word, folks.)

Anyyyyywho, I left for Kentucky Sunday to visit some of my family that I haven’t seen in 4 months!! It was such a loooong day that day and I’m glad to be home. I traveled from Beaumont to Houston to, (finally) Cincinnati, Ohio!

I’m such a family person.. like, big time. And I’ve missed them so much it’s kinda crazy. Much like everyone else.. family is so important to me and I couldn’t imagine life without them. Being with them is hectic, psycho, funny and just, perfect. I wouldn’t have it any other way. So obviously, I wanted to share with you just two of my favorite bible verses about….

family.

First off comes from Colossians!

¹³Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Colossians 3:13

So, this is clear as to what it means.. you have to put up with your family. That’s just what you do. Along with putting up with them, you have to forgive them. Because it’s one thing to not forgive someone that’s not kin to you, but to not forgive someone that IS in your family is another. Because if you don’t have anything in life, one thing you will have is family. So, forgive them, just as the Lord has forgave you and all of your sins!

⁸Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

1 Timothy 5:8

So, along with always having family in your life to put up with or always forgiving them.. You have to be there for them. When they are in need and need help with, you have to be there. You have to help them and be there especially if they are in your household. Because if the Lord is known for anything, he’s always there for you. If you don’t help your family or household in a time of need, then you have denied the faith that the Lord said to share. If you don’t, you’re worse than an unbeliever. Why? Because not helping is exactly what a non-believer would do.
